Accurate tin plate monitoring through deplating process is crucial for can makers in the tin plate market. This is a microprocessor operated tin and tin alloy coating analyser which uses ASTM A 630 Method B.
In a precisely delimited area of the sample , electrolytic dissolution is performed by electric current. The amount of removed tin is calculated as a function of the ratio between the area and the current applied. The deplating process is constantly monitored to obtain a precise deplating graph.
By measuring voltage, the analyser will show the shifts rom tin to tin alloy, from tin alloy to iron.
Dissolution of tin and tin alloy can have three different speeds and the process can be followed on the display. The measure is taken on both sides of the sample (top - bottom) within the range 0,2- 30 gr/mq.
Select standards will be referred to international standards built-in tables (ASTM , EURONORM , ISO , BSI) for proof of conformity.
The system is comprised of two components: an electronic unit and an electrolytic sample cell and can do without a computer system.
ELECTRONIC UNIT
Microprocessor based unit with dedicated software. The operator enters his I.D. code, details of relative measurements and the sample identification in accordance with GLP norms. Measurements are elaborated with reference to selected standards and expressed in weight/surface.
The internal memory stores up to 200 data. The unit does not require an external PC but it can be connected to one if needed for the filing of memorized data.
Tin Check can be connected to an external printer.
ELECTROLYTICAL SAMPLE CELL
Acid resistant material. Easily inspectable for the presence of air bubbles on the sample surface.
The cathod has the shape of a wire to increase contact with the solution whereas the anode contact is high chemical resistance gold plated brass. The acid flows in by force of gravity and is discharged when the measuring cells open. It is possible to rinse the cells from a tap placed on one of two positions.
Tin Check has some relevant benefits :
-the reference standards are automatically programmed
-selection of each sample parameter is automatic
-the system is supplied with a fixed attachment to the detergent solution
-the stripping process graph can be visualized on the display
